At Chief Nation, we bring together talent across marketing, data, creative, and – of course – events under one roof. In this exclusive interview series, we’re introducing you to the people that make your campaigns shine.
Today, we’d like to introduce you to our Event Team Leader, and host and translator for all of our French clients, Jessica Martin. We couldn’t run the events that we do without her, so let’s see what a day looks like in Jessica’s shoes…

Queen of events, Jessica leads four of our lovely Event Managers…
You’re a Event Team Leader here at Chief Nation. Could you tell us what this means for you and your team?
I am part of the Events team at Chief Nation and lead 4 fantastic Event Managers. As Event Team Leader, I support the team’s campaigns and day to day tasks. I run and host some of our fabulous Chief Wine Officer events (digitally and hopefully live soon!) and manage the marketing and client liaison. I ensure our processes and technology are the most up to date and collaborate with the team to implement creative and new ideas.
Walk us through your average day.
I usually start my day with a cup of green tea and check my calendar for any important meetings or client calls so I can plan my day around them. I then take a look at my team’s plans and check in with them in case they need support for their events. I also manage my own campaigns and work on the marketing strategy to generate attendees for our events.
… And hosts all events for our French clients single-handedly.

Curveball: favourite movie and why?
Too many to choose from! But I do love a good romantic story and I must say True Romance is one of my top movies. It’s a true classic (and not your typical romcom either) with an impeccable cast and masterfully written by Quentin Tarantino.
What is the most challenging thing about your job?
You never know what to expect in the events business, so the challenging part is to stay on top of everything and be prepared for whatever comes your way. Managing all the tasks and making sure all campaigns across the team run smoothly can also be a challenge, but we always get there in the end!
And the most rewarding part?
I love working with such a fun, collaborative team! It’s so great when we all come together to ensure the events are successful and it’s super rewarding when the client is happy with our work.
If you were a wine, what would you be?
Rosé Champagne, I grew up in France, I’m bubbly and my favourite colour is pink!

She’s also partial to a glass (or two) of rosé.
Do you have any hobbies? How do you unwind at the weekend?
After work I love to do yoga to relax and release any stress. I also love dancing so any opportunity to boogie is great. I cannot wait for festivals to start again as I used to go to them every summer. Otherwise, my ultimate way of unwinding would be sipping a cocktail on the beach and listening to some music.
Pineapple on pizza: yes or no?
Absolutely NOT.
What’s the best present anyone has ever given you?
I was given a rose quartz crystal and since then I have been collecting pretty crystals 😊
I was also given a Britney Spears mouse pad from a Secret Santa which I cherish (massive fan right here).
What’s been your biggest accomplishment at Chief Nation?
My personal biggest accomplishment would be managing the Chief Wine Officer events for our French clients on my own and also hosting them which is always great fun!
Finally, what’s your favourite drink?
I do love Rosé, but a good Mojito is one of my favourites.
