You’re an Office Manager here at Chief Nation. Could you tell us what this means for you?
Being an Office Manager allows me to help create a positive work environment in which we all are happy to spend most of our days! While I don’t have a team in the traditional sense, I feel like I’m part of each and every team in the company – and that for me is very fulfilling.
Walk us through your average day.
Every day is very different! I usually start by checking my emails across four different inboxes to help make sure I know what the priorities for the day are. I would say Finance, managing the operation of the wine orders and dealing with the daily team’s requests are probably my main tasks. My job is in constant evolution and I love that!
Fresh or dried, you can always rely on Manuela to arrange a beautiful bunch of flowers.
Curveball: favourite movie and why?
I love Spy movies, especially from the past. But my favourite is Kill Bill Vol 2. Epic moment in the winter garden! I love the concept around the making of the Hattori Hanzo.
What is the most challenging thing about your job?
Being there for everyone at the same time!
And the most rewarding part?
Feeling that I can make a difference 😊
If you were a wine, what would you be?
Barolo!!! Dream bottle: Giacomo Conterno Barolo Monfortino Riserva 2010
Anything with Japanese whiskey or Sake is fine by Manuela… Pour it up!
Do you have any hobbies? How do you unwind at the weekend?
This is probably my favourite question 😊 I spend a lot of time flower arranging. It’s so beautiful to have them around when they are fresh but drying them to create different arrangements is definitely my big hobby. I also love going to vintage fairs and finding something special, or a food and/or drinks tasting. They’re perfect ways to unwind!
Pineapple on pizza: yes or no?
NEVER! I’m very traditional with pizza!
What’s the best present anyone has ever given you?
A picture frame with a photo of a very funny memory from my trip to Thailand. I laugh so much every time I look at it!
What’s been your biggest accomplishment at Chief Nation?
I started at Chief Nation a year ago when the pandemic was just beginning. I met my colleagues face-to-face only for 2 weeks! Despite this, I feel I have been able to build great relationships with them and I must thank them too for this!
Finally, what’s your favourite drink?
Cocktails with Japanese whisky, or sake.
