At Chief Nation, we bring together talent across marketing, data, creative, and – of course – events under one roof. In this exclusive interview series, we’re introducing you to the people that make your campaigns shine.

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Paulina – economically known around the office as ‘Pau’ and probably the only person you’ll ever meet who can get away with having blue hair!

Pau loves ponies and Pinot Noir – and dipping Oreos in her wine….

You’re our dedicated Events Content Lead here at Chief Nation. Could you tell us what this means for you and your team?

My role sits between the Event and Content teams. One half of the job is attendee generation, account management, logistics, and the long list of other tasks that go into organising a CWO event 😊 The other half looks at the written content the Event team uses to promote our events – mostly emails, LinkedIn promotion, newsletters and other ad-hoc copy.

Walk us through your average day.

I like to get a head start on preparing emails for upcoming campaigns in the morning, while my mind is still fresh. After that it’s meetings, looking after events, client calls, proofreading. Some evenings I’ll be working a virtual event with one of our MDs – every day is a bit different!

Pau recently moved into her new role after being a full time Event Manager,

Curveball: favourite movie and why?

The Godfather – I love a good crime film.

What is the most challenging thing about your job?

On the event side: keeping on top of all the constantly moving parts. On the content side: days where I feel less creative, and churning out a paragraph or two feels like a mammoth task….

And the most rewarding part?

There are so many fun and talented people at our company, so it’s really rewarding to get to work with lots of my colleagues across teams – especially during lockdown and the (temporary) death of the casual office chat. Another thing I hope to enjoy again post-pandemic is travelling to work at live events in other countries.

If you were a wine, what would you be?

Pinot Noir.

Pau’s fantasy is to one day live on a farm with ponies and dogs!

Do you have any hobbies? How do you unwind at the weekend?

My #1 fun thing to do is probably cycling. I also enjoy drawing, and I don’t know if this counts as a hobby, but I love animals and lowkey want to live in the countryside with lots of ponies and dogs.

Pineapple on pizza: yes or no?

I get why people would like it… but not for me.

What’s been your biggest accomplishment at Chief Nation?

Stepping into my current role from my previous 100% Event Manager role.

Any guilty pleasures?

Pairing red wine with Oreos. Trust me on this – I’ve been to a few wine tastings in my life haha.

Finally, what’s the best piece of advice you've ever received?

“What other people think of you is none of your business”.
