Every year, the Chief Nation team get together to raise money for a charity that’s close to our hearts. This year we’re continuing to support the amazing Think Malawi, a charity that helps break down the barriers for children gaining access to education in Malawi. And we’re doing this again by embarking on the STEP-tember challenge…
To walk the same number of steps it would take to get from London to Lilongwe, Malawi’s capital.
For every 10,000 steps that we cover as a team, Chief Nation will donate £1. So, if we reach our target steps, we’ll raise £987.00.
We’ll keep you updated on our progress by sharing weekly map updates. You’ll be able to see where our total steps have taken us!
- 4,962 miles from London to Lilongwe (as the crow flies)
- 2,000 steps = 1 mile (average)
- 9,874,000 steps would get us to Lilongwe
- 364,700 steps per person
- 12,190 steps per day per person
Think Malawi is a small independent charity run purely by volunteers. Projects they have helped with include:
- Funding teachers’ salaries during school closures in the Coronavirus Pandemic
- Supporting school girls in Malawi who miss school due to inadequate menstrual materials
- Building classrooms, washrooms and wells in schools for over ten years
It goes without saying that Think Malawi has changed the lives of hundreds of children that otherwise would not have had access to a good education.
We’d love your support
We’re so proud to be supporting such a life-changing charity. This is our second year raising money for a Think Malawi project and we’d appreciate any donation – big or small. Everything we raise will go a long way in supporting the lives and education of so many children in Mawali.
